The larger redfish this time of year have worms. The best time for Red Fish with no worms is fall and winter after the first cold front. The reason I know is because I grew up by lake Sabine which is half LA and half TX. I rig my red fishing line Carolina style with a 1 oz. football weight with a gulp shrimp or minnow.

I remember watching an episode of your tv show like 25 years ago or more and you were shiner fishing with a balloon. I thought it was awesome . I still remember that today.

Personal best was a little over 10 lbs on a big Buzz bait in a big farm pond here in Ohio have caught several 5/6 and 7 over the years on buzzbaits starting to experiment with the 5-in s i n c o lost a big one last year in a state Lake didn't have a good enough hook set thanks for all the great information rolling you've been an inspiration probably my whole life well you and Bill

Grew up in the 90's watching this guy on TV, his show was on right when I got home from school so I'd watch it almost everyday. Great to see he's still going strong, now I'm a fan because he has entertained and taught me so much throughout my life. Whatever you do, do not give the gators any fish because then they will NEVER leave you alone lol. Made that mistake first time I fishes down south, gators chased me all over the lake. Imagine how cool it would be to have a dad like Roland Martin? Much love and respect from Southern Illinois!

I don't know if Roland checks his comments or if he comments back. But I would sure like a video of his personal and professional thoughts on FFS in tournaments. I am from the old school of learning how to fish based on conditions, reading the water, surroundings and all. I would also like to know his thoughts on the regular angler using FFS on fisheries around the country. Does he think it is hurting the fisheries? I would sum it up by giving a title he could use for the video. "Roland Martin: Is FFS hurting the sport of fishing for the pros and everyday angler" I think and in depth video from him as a much respected pro would be very interesting.

dang why didn't you fish with Matsubu, he crappie guides and you know he bass fishes. Shoot he told me stories about you guys back in the day's salt water fishing with Mr Yamamoto and of course the bass fishing. He told me if it wasn't for Judy you all wouldn't have gotten out of a Wal Mart because everyone wanted to talk to Roland, she would tell folks we had to go for a meeting just to get away. lol Good luck in the future!!

I got a new hip installed the 26th ! So I'm watching Roland Marting videos on you tube ! It'll be awhile but I'll be back out there soon !
